Pallet Floor and Potting Stations

Pallet floor construction started, lights from indoor grow area moved in and set up, and two potting stations established. I also built an entrance ramp using some of the urbanite produced during leveling the site. Buckets are for soil mixing, seating, water, biochar and dead biomass. Today we potted up the first batch of 18 cuttings in the greenhouse! Giving a total of 39 out of which only 2 have died. Over 50 cuttings still to go!

Plants are starting to acclimate to greenhouse conditions. New growth is visible so temperature and lighting seem adequate to prevent dormancy!

Floor Tarp, First Light & Vetiver Planting

Floor tarp placed and drainage hole integrated! First light installed and running! This one has fans that will provide some air movement, and is set to 16 hours on/8 off to extend the photoperiod and prevent dormancy. We potted up the first batch of 21 cuttings, adding some of the biochar we made last week, and then mixed kitchen compost, biochar, and pigeon guano with local soil and filled the alternate block cells, planting vetiver until we ran out. We had enough vetiver to fill over half the cells! Thanks Nick and Joe! All plants from the indoor grow space are now in the greenhouse.

Greenhouse Frame Assembly Complete!

Initial frame assembly and covering complete, thanks Joe for your help! I had to buy around half the nuts and bolts required, and the cover will need replacing moderately soon due to several holes and general wear and tear, but we are approaching a functional greenhouse! Next will be flooring, ventilation, drainage integration and lighting, and then we can move in trees!
